Throughout this entire newsletter issue, there is one common thread that ties all of the
stories together: the power of volunteerism.
As both Gettysburg National Military Park Superintendent Ed Clark and Gettysburg
Foundation President Joanne Hanley stated in their columns, Gettysburg would not be the
national historic landmark it is today without the passion, dedication and perseverance of
loyal volunteers.
