municipalauthorities.org │ 15 Now I’m on the consultant side of the industry, working as a Client Development Manager at HRG. I help municipal authority leaders enhance operations and meet regulatory obligations by connecting them with the right engineers and financial strategists to guide them toward success. Relationships are the heart of my work. I strive to truly know the leaders I meet through PMAA and learn about their communities, so that our team can provide the best possible solution for their needs. PMAA helps me do that. Their regional meetings provide an unsurpassed opportunity to connect with others in the industry one-on-one, learn about issues they’re facing, and hear their goals. These personal interactions build trust and professional relationships. They’ve also increased my empathy and understanding of municipal authority challenges, making me a better partner and service provider if a project opportunity should develop. I’m not just focused on projects. I’m focused on building communities by offering value and support. PMAA gives me and my colleagues at HRG many opportunities to share our insights and experience with authority leaders through webinars, magazine articles, and workshops at events. This helps us establish our firm as a trusted resource for authority leaders, so that they feel comfortable reaching out when they have a question. PMAA also offers us the opportunity to support the industry via sponsorships and volunteer service. This enhances our visibility, but it’s incredibly gratifying as well. Recently I had the opportunity to volunteer at a fundraiser for the Future Leaders Scholarship, and it was a joyful experience. Continued on page 62.
