9 Doris treasured every opportunity to connect with fellow volunteers and with UCP staff. I n consideration of Doris’ enduring affiliation with UCP, her family thoughtfully encouraged memorial contributions in her name be made to: UCP Foundation of Central PA 55 Utley Drive Camp Hill, PA 17011 Above and below: Over the years, two things about the UCP/SchmidtKramer Golf Tournament remained unchanged: the cashbox used... and Doris’ loyal commitment to the fundraiser. At her memorial service, Doris’ great niece Laura gave an emotional tribute to her adored (and adoring) “Aunt Dote,” saying, in part... We also note with sadness that Doris’ beloved husband, William J. Brunner, passed away on May 6 of this year at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown where he had gone to live since Doris’ passing. Clearly, they were not meant to be apart. We extend our heartfelt condolences to family members on dual losses of such magnitude. ~ The Editor “No matter where she went, Dote was always the life of the party. She was a celebrator, and she was everyone’s biggest cheerleader. She filled her life with the people, causes, and things that she loved, and I truly believe that her positive outlook and genuine curiosity allowed her to have fun every single day. ...Through her love, wisdom, and spunk, Aunt Dote herself was truly a Gift of Gold to our family, and to everyone whose life she touched. And this is why she will always occupy a special place in my heart - as an aunt, a mentor, a friend, and the person who taught me to live life to its fullest, and to never miss an opportunity for a party.” Talk about life lessons learned. We’re sure “Aunt Dote” is beaming with pride, Laura. * * * * * “Doris was passionate about UCP, and investing in our mission was important to her. She felt strongly that UCP must remain innovative, and consider the use of technology wherever financially possible. She was a warm, loving, well-liked person—with a huge heart— who always had a smile, and could easily make you smile. Her absence leaves a void within UCP that cannot be replaced.” ~ Janeen Latin, Chief Operating Officer, UCP Central PA Life without Limits
