16 The Authority │ June system. Secondly, we have installed emergency generators, sized to keep the entire facility up and running in the event of a power outage. Performance Assessment After a period of calibration and customization of our upgraded treatment process, we are now ready to measure our electricity consumption, sludge volume generation, and nutrient mass loading using the new treatment process. These key performance indicators (KPIs) will help us refine our budget for plant operations and maintenance as well as determine the return on investment for our upgrade. In closing, I’d like to recognize key people who made this project possible: the engineers at Burgess & Niple, the INVENT® staff, the construction and electrical contractors, the equipment suppliers, and our incredible employees at the plant. Everyone worked as a team, kept in regular communication, and rose to meet the challenges inherent in a project of this scope and size. The end result is an impressive infrastructure improvement that will serve our customers and help maintain the health of the French Creek watershed for years to come. S Note: Representatives of MASA will be attending the PMAA Annual Conference & Trade Show in September. We invite anyone interested in learning more about this project to reach out to us. t Photo 2: A view of the INVENT® Hyperclassic® Mixing and Aerators (HCMAs) being installed in one of our SBR tanks.
