6 The Authority │ December t Erri H ausEr r EflECts oN H Er Y Ear as Pmaa P rEsidENt As I close out my term as President of PMAA, I am filled with deep gratitude and reflection of what this year has meant to me. Serving in this role has been one of the greatest honors of my career - not because of the title, but because of the people that I have had the privilege to serve alongside. In the water, wastewater, stormwater, solid waste and recycling industries, our work is often unseen but it is never unimportant. Every system that we maintain, every challenge that we overcome, and every customer that we serve makes a difference. I am proud to have shared this journey with such passionate, dedicated, professionals. As I pass the gavel to Melissa, I do so with confidence and excitement for what’s ahead! It has been an honor to serve and I will always treasure this experience. Warm regards, Terri Hauser Immediate Past President, Pennsylvania Municipal Authorities Association Manager, Latrobe Municipal Authority a m EssagE from Pmaa’ s P rEsidENt B e the C hange . B e B old . B e o range . As I step into this new chapter as President of the Pennsylvania Municipal Authorities Association, I am filled with gratitude and excitement for the year ahead. Representing more than 600 municipal authorities across our great Commonwealth is both an honor and a responsibility — one that I approach with optimism and a spirit of collaboration. At our annual conference last month, we celebrated the theme “Be The Change.” I challenged each of you to do just that — to be bold, be innovative, and yes, be orange! Orange is more than a color; it’s a mindset. It symbolizes energy, creativity, and enthusiasm — the very qualities that make municipal authorities the lifeblood of strong, thriving communities. Whether your authority serves a small town or a growing region, your work makes a difference every single day. This year, I’m thrilled to continue building momentum around PMAA’s new podcast, Authorities on Air — an initiative launched just before my term began that is already sparking great conversations across the state. This exciting new platform brings cutting-edge conversations straight to your ears — stories of innovation, leadership, and service that highlight how municipal authorities power our communities. It’s a place to share ideas, celebrate successes, and learn from one another. I encourage each of you — as well as community members, local officials, and ratepayers — to tune in and join the conversation. Together, we can shine a light on the essential work our authorities do across Pennsylvania. As we move through the year, I invite you to stay engaged, stay curious, and most importantly — be the change in your own corner of the Commonwealth. Tell me how you’re embracing innovation, building partnerships, or improving the lives of those you serve. I’d love to hear your stories and share them with our PMAA family. Thank you for your dedication to the mission of municipal service. Let’s make this a year of connection, progress, and plenty of orange energy!
