The Pennsylvania Municipal Authorities Association (PMAA), the united voice for municipal authorities throughout the Commonwealth, recently recognized State Representative Nate Davidson with the 2025 Distinguished Service Award for his work advocating on behalf of municipal authorities within the Pennsylvania General Assembly. The award presentation took place at PMAA’s 83 rd Annual Conference in Bethlehem. “Representative Davidson has been a steadfast champion for municipal authorities across the state. As prime sponsor of HB 921, he is leading the effort to establish a statewide Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP), aimed at helping eligible ratepayers pay overdue water and wastewater bills. He also cosponsored legislation requiring state agencies and nonprofit organizations to pay their fair share of stormwater management fees. Additionally, he played a key role in advancing a bill that designates municipal authority employees as a protected class against assault, further strengthening protections for frontline public workers. Representative Davidson is the kind of leader who not only understands the challenges our members face but actively works to solve them,” said PMAA President Terri Hauser. “I appreciate PMAA’s work to strengthen municipal authorities across Pennsylvania,” said Davidson. “I’m honored and humbled to receive this award, and I will continue to advocate in the legislature to support the important work of our municipal authorities.” The Distinguished Legislative Service Award identifies state legislators for their dedication and distinguished service to municipal authorities in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. These lawmakers take action to support or defend local voices making local choices. Some of their actions include sponsoring legislation on behalf of member authorities, voting in support of the Association’s policy positions and working behind the scenes to rally support for municipal authorities throughout the legislative session.
