Thanks to the strong participation of the community, the two-day event collected and properly disposed of over 19 tons of hazardous materials, protecting both public health and the local environment. In addition, CCRRA held a free Tire Collection Event the following weekend where 134 residents dropped off over 1,600 tires to be recycled. Over 1,000 residents from across Centre County took part in these special collection events. “We’re incredibly pleased with the turnout and thankful to Centre County residents for their continued commitment to safe, sustainable waste disposal,” said Mimi Cooper, CCRRA’s Recycling Coordinator. “These Continued on page 63.
